I bet Savell uses an empty coffee can for a pot and an old hubcap for a frypan.

Yup , I will agree , crappy stove. I want to go gas , much better.

On another note , I notice you have a Corningware ' cornflower ' pattern percolator. My mom had the same set of cookware.
Did you know the percolator had some issues and was recalled ?
It turns out some of them had issues with the epoxy that held them together. It would fail and the base would fall off unexpectedly causing burns to those that used them. Check Cornings website to see if yours is one of them. Just sayin.

I'm looking for cooking utensils , like cookware , smokers , BBQ grills , killer cooktops/ovens , cutlery, kitchen gizmos , etc.
What do you use to perfect your craft ?

I will start , I'm very proud to own a nice set of All-Clad cookware.

Pricey stuff , I have about $1500 into my collection , but it is the professionals choice and I look at it as investment, last set of cookware I will ever have to buy. It has upped my game as the results are much better than the set of Revereware I used to use. Fantastic results.

That’s a nice set! How long have you had it? It looks brand new!
Now it’s time to replace that stove!

Some of them are almost 20yo old. I take very good care of them , big investment. Just like a lot of my Snap-On tools , they are not abused. I have gotten lucky every once in a blue moon , I find All-Clad cookware at Goodwill. Someone abused them and they look like crap , then they buy a new one. I have access to a metal refinishing shop that I work at on occasion per diem when they need me when they get backed up. Two of the pieces in that photo came from Goodwill that I restored. I doubt you can pick them out. Nice when you get a $125 fry pan for $8 and make it look like new again.

Not yet. Still contemplating the way to go. Looking at options before I buy , I want to get good ones I can stay with for the long term.

Brand , size and reviews , what do you have there ?

I make do pretty well with some cast iron, a couple non-stick skillets, the kitchen range and the gas grill on the porch. My wife likes the gadgets. Instant Pot, air fryer, electric griddle, Kitchenaid... probably some more I can't see right now.

499 Walmart. Austin XL 1050 square inches of cooking surface. I have used hickory , competition blend and mesquite pellets/ LOVE the mesquite best but it's all good. I've cooked . Pork chops . ribs, steak, whole chickens. Chicken legs brisket, burgers, EVERYTHING is awesome on it.

I've always liked cooking. Never had to do the dishes when I had roomates.

No gadgets, but I do like gas stoves in a big way. I use two commercial saucepans, a cast iron wok, and three different cast iron casseroles with lids like Nessmuck showed. They last a lifetime and are great for stews and such. The most famous brand for that king of thing is Le Creuset. They've been made here forever.

No cast iron now but in my mom's house it was almost all she used.

Pete

I hate Martha Stewart. She doesn't live at my house , her brand of cookware sucks. She just slaps her name on junk to make a buck. All-Clad is way better. My food tastes much better because of it.

Again , I hate Martha Stewart.....lol

No offence , Boco

So.... You're saying you don't like Martha Stewart? Don't hold back brother, tell us how you really feel.

My wife who ,denies it, but IS an amazing cook ,uses whatever she has available and achieves amazing results. She has asked for certain pots and pans over the years, and since I love to eat, I get her what she wants. I like the look of the All-Clad stuff, I will definitely keep my eye out for some of that.
I use mostly cast iron , a nice campfire, kingsford charcoal on a weber grill, or for the last few years,a Pitboss 820, nobody complains about my cooking either. i love to do the cooking ,especially when we are camping. sometimes we pretend we are camping at home ,just so I can cook. it takes a little practice but something a s simple as a frozen pizza, which I crave sometimes, can be made even better on a PitBoss smoker.I ruined a few before I figured out how to do it,
My next project is to get some nice hickory pieces and try making my own charcoal, out of it.

Yea, I know someone who uses our kitchen occasionally who does the same.
