Might look somewhere like this or have the original refinished

need a view of the side

that looks like it might be an old plate , handle and latch with a newer dead bolt installed through the plate

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If you cannot find one , consider looking at getting it restored. I work at a metal refinishing shop on occasion as needed. We do some vintage hardware and plumbing parts that come in now and then. Some of the older stuff is no longer made and no longer made with the quality of materials back then. Have seen stuff just like that latch come through the shop.

I worked on this barber's chair. Wish I had some 'before' pics. It looked rough and tired when we got it. We did lots of polishing and buffing on the parts. Then nickel plating followed by chrome plating. None of the upholstery work or the white colored base , that was done by someone else.

The chair dates to the 1930's-1940's

Getting that latch done will run somewhere around $200-$300 , you may get totally different prices where you are and who you are having do it. Brass cleans up nice IMO. We generally get almost a mirror finish on solid brass parts. Plus , unlike a replacement, refinishing it , you know it will fit perfectly from where you took it off. A replacement maybe , maybe not.

Gary have you checked out VanDykes restoration?

https://www.vandykes.com/?gclid=Cj0...naP0wC6qi_TiIoH-pZxmLfuxm3AaAgZyEALw_wcB

They have period replacement hardware for restoration projects.

The deadbolt, or "night latch" is above that works.

Google "mortise exterior trim with thumb lever" and you'll see lots of options. It looks like old Yale hardware to me but when I add the word "yale" to the search it shows me only new locksets.

I doubt that you'll find anything exactly like it but there are newer locksets that are very similar.
