Well this should lower the number of mink in the pipeline:

As a farmer I cannot imagine doing what those mink farms are having to do, but I have more compassion for our pork guys right here that have had to do the same thing during this mess we are living through!

Reportedly it's been affecting a mink ranches in Wisconsin and Utah as well. Is there anyone that can confirm this?

Hmm. I mentioned all this to a friend, only today. How mink are ~ supposedly ~ now getting the slit eyed flumonia.

I said how mink are mustalids and so, surely, pine martens, stoats, ferrets and weasels etc must also be susceptible. Where's the push to wipe out Those ~ in some cases Protected ~ creatures?

Imagine the uproar if they manage to find it in 'domestic' cats? " Keep your cat indoors, or else it will be shot on sight! "

Makes me think of the Bovine TB drama in UK. Badgers. Wow! The connotations!

We have had deaths in WI. I have not heard any updates regarding how many or if anymore ranches have the disease. In a post I made a few days ago I mentioned what about the wild mink? I have not heard or researched any information regarding that. Spread most likely would be slower and hopefully less due to more territorial behavior, more space and not many common contacts or feed etc.

Just the solitary habits of wild mink, fisher etc make them not susceptible to disease in general. Worrying about covid in wild mink is ridiculous. Suppose a mask mandate might save all the members of the weasel family. Distemper is deadly to most fur bearers and in comparison makes covid look like a few sniffles to mink I’d venture.

Always so much misinformation on the net. Denmark was not forcing ranchers out, that was Poland. Also those ranches with corona virus in Denmark only get 20% compensation for the forced pelt out.
