Lately I have been noticing a common theme. When I check it out, it appears a family of them have been working the area. 330s are a waste of time and I’m one catch and done. Any guesses?

I appreciate those helpful tips 330 but I’m thinking someone has three thirtied them to death before I get the call.
Not likely when I catch the one, the rest pack up and run away after all the hard work they have put in.

There's no other critter that can make you feel like the master one day and a newbie the next. I always make it a point to ask straight up when was the last time there was any attempt to manage the beavers in the area. I ask the same question. Same answer every time, “they haven’t been that’ I’m aware of, why?” When I explain, I get silence and the walk away.

Hey Hobbie... what is the environment you are setting? A marsh, lake or pond, a ditch or a creek. Most of the ones I have caught in recent years have been caught in small streams, I caught 32 about 5 years ago and all but 2 place places I got the entire family of six. It might take several days, but I worked. The other 2 places... the was and old lone buck and the other a young pair. The single, the old buck took 7 days to catch him and he weighed 63 pounds. Even though he was alone he raised havoc to trees in the area. Most all were caught in 330s.

lol been beavering long......smiley face You’ll have to define long. lol It’s been a long time since I got the call before they have been shot at or “a friend” of the owners was catching them.
