So this has lately become yet another addiction since I didn't have enough already. It's amazing how much brass people leave laying on the ground. .45, .223, and gobs of 9mm. Reloading right now isn't affordable, but maybe some day... Please tell me I'm not the only one.......
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

If you're going to reload picked up pistol brass you need to get a bulge buster sizer for anything that has been fired in a Glock. I used to own and operate a once fired brass business and we processed thousands of rounds of range brass.so just a heads up.

I grab any brass at the range if they let me , except steel/aluminum. Even .218 bee has value to someone. If I have enough of one caliber like .218 bee , it has the potential to be sold or traded. Even .22lr has brass scrap value. I currently have 2 5gal buckets of .223 from the range.

Gary , I strongly suggest you get into reloading. Saves you major bucks.
Get a Dillon reloader press. Best one on the market IMO. Cough up the money for the good one right off the bat, you won't regret it down the road. It will pay for itself quickly. Reloading your own ammo saves big time cash and it is more accurate than store-bought loads.
Did I say it will pay for itself quickly ? , with today's ammo prices , it can pay for itself in less than a year.

I made up buckets drilled drain holes encase it rained labeled them brass put out a couple. I would get lucky and people would even pick it up and put it in the buckets for me.
it's like not picking up nickels , dimes and quarters laying around on the ground

I used to collect range brass but quit because different brands of brass have slightly different dimensions, and you have to keep adjusting your equipment, especially if you want to crimp.
Another good reason is the range where I shoot doesn't allow brass collection anymore. Of course you can retrieve your own.

Did I say it will pay for itself quickly ? , with today's ammo prices , it can pay for itself in less than a year. I respectfully disagree never saved a dime reloading , but I shoot so so much more I used to buy 250-500 rounds of 9mm a year and shoot it in a few trips to the range now I can go through around 400-500 a month covid has slowed this down some. yes my shooting game has gotten better but any money saved went into more powder , primer , projectile or more reloading tools. yes I have more ammo on hand than ever before even during a shortage However I don't have any more money left if saving money is your goal , just let your pay check auto deposit in the bank and never get into reloading. if you want to shoot more , a lot more dive right into reloading and be prepared to say things like oh midway has my rifle bullets on sale should I get 500 or 1000 yeah 2500 it is.

You don't save money reloading. Thats an urban myth like the existence of leftover bacon. You just end up shooting more and getting into calibers that you cant find factory ammo for.

Right now, with the ammo shortage, I do believe reloading is more expensive than buying ammo. Everything is overpriced. Anybody need some brand new .45 brass for 41 cents each?
