Paul Offit, who sits on the Food and Drug Administration's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory committee, said he's wary of a COVID-19 vaccine that may be rushed to market under pressure from the government.
The US health and Human Services Operation Warp Speed has pledged to deliver 300 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by 2021, if not sooner. However, developing a safe and effective vaccine normally takes years and begins with animal studies.
The COVID-19 vaccines are all being rushed straight into human clinical tests, forgoing lengthy animals trials altogether. Vaccine makers are also being shielded against liability if people are harmed by the experimental vaccines.
Modern's Phase 1 human trial revealed 100% of volunteers in the high dose group suffered systemic side effects. Side effects included fatigue, chills, headaches and myalgia; 21% suffered one or more severe events.
A May 26, 2020, article in STAT news told the harrowing story of Ian Haydon, a healthy 29 year old participant in Moderna's vaccine trial who suffered severe side effects requiring hospitalization.
While Haydon recovered from the side effects, which included a raging fever, fainting, nausea, muscle pain and generally feeling as sick as he'd ever felt. Just imagine what such side effects might do to an elderly person, an infant, young child or someone who is metabolically compromised.
Like the Moderna vaccine, the AstraZeneca/ Oxford University vaccine also appears to come with a shockingly high rate of side effects. Studies published August 15, 2020, revealed a clear majority of participants experienced side effects, including fatigue, headache, muscle ache, malaise, chills and fevers. September 6, 2020 AstraZeneca paused its Phase 3 vaccine trial due to a suspected serious and unexpected adverse reaction in a British participant. The company didn't divulge the nature of the adverse reaction.
I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

As for me and my children there will be no vaccine. I will not allow a government funded vaccine that’s been rushed through trials and pushed on the American people by big brother to be injected into my children. Not a snowballs chance in he l l

I understand the concern.
But doesn't the fact that these trials have been conducted, and further trials paused pending further examination, indicate that due regard for the safety of the vaccinations is taken into consideration. The evidence seems to show that when a problem is discovered, the vaccine developers are careful to halt further progress and make sure they get it right before proceeding.
I don't intend to run right out and get the first release of a COVID vaccination. I would wait until at least version 2.0. Even then, I'm not sure if I would ever want to get the vaccination, even if all the hype was long past and my doctor still recommended it. Still, it seems the evidence cited is an indicator that safety is a priority and drug companies are being careful not to release a faulty vaccine. Quite the opposite of suggesting that drug companies will be pushing a vaccine they are not confident about.

Even if the vaccine were deemed safe, even after it’s been released and has proven safe, we won’t get it. None of us are at risk of serious illness from covid-19. No underlying conditions, no risk factors. We will recover from the virus easily and quickly, likely without any treatment. Most doctors agree that a natural immunity brought on by becoming infected and then recovering from a disease is stronger and better than an immunity brought on by vaccination, so there is no reason for us to vaccinate against it. We can achieve a stronger immunity without risk of side effects simply by allowing our bodies to do what nature created them to do.
Not to mention I don’t trust the government any farther than I can throw it. The media can tell us all whatever big brother wants us to hear.

All side effects listed are the same side effects that many get when they receive their annual flu shots. I don't take that poison either

I may have had it already. If not I figure the disease is no more likely to be fatal than a vaccine. I will let my immune system deal with it

I don’t get flu shots either. My body can handle the flu. I am pro vaccine on things like polio. Measles. Tetanus. Things that a normal immune system cannot fight off without severe damage or death.

I'm pretty sure "the government" isn't pushing warp speed to a vaccine, unless "the government" referred to means our president. "As soon as a vaccine is approved the administration will deliver it to the American people immediately," Trump said at a White House news briefing on Friday. "Distribution will begin with 24 hours after notice." The federal government's Operation Warp Speed program for developing a vaccine earlier this week made the same promise. But Trump went further. "We'll have manufactured at least 100 million vaccine doses before the end of the year, and likely much more than that," he said. "Millions of doses will be available every month, and we expect to have enough vaccines for every American by April."
