I think I would try to look at it as them trying to express genuine appreciation and respect for what you are able to do and provide. Most of the time, they probably don't really expect you to give up something you want for their benefit. They are probably just trying to find a way to say how they admire your skill and strength at hunting and fishing.
Also, many hunters I know find it too much trouble to clean, cook and eat game meat and fish. They would rather give it away than deal with the hassle. So, some folks might be thinking, "hey, if you are looking for place to dispose of some of the excess meat you can't use, I really enjoy eating in the wild game and fish you are so good at getting, so remember me before you throw that stuff away."
Some of them could just be freeloaders. But whenever possible I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
I've got a friend that regularly gives me some left over venison from the previous year once he adds some fresh meat to his freezer. I never ask him for it. But, I sure do tell him how much my whole family enjoyed it when we ate it. I also try to pay him back by reloading some ammo for him or giving him some tanned furs to make stuff out of.
What from Christ that soul can sever, Bound by everlasting bands? None shall take thee From the Strength of Israel's hands.

or example: in the next week of our early rifle doe season, between my wife and kids, we can legally shoot 16 doe. That's not counting archery or buck season
What in gods name... What does the non resident hunt look like? I would legit drive to Virginia with a trailer... Our friends drive all the way from Florida for the deer #'s. We are well known as a 'freezer filler' state. Not known for trophies but numbers. The cost must be reasonable as well considering the # of non res. we get every year. You mean the 10 goat sized deer at every culvert on US35 is an accurate representation of your deer population? Lol

I think the point being made is everyone enjoys giving and sharing their bounty..... but it is rude to go ask.... needs to be on the givers choice only !

I had a guy at work that doesn’t even hunt tell me he was going on a wild game diet so if i could get him some deer and whatever else that would be great! I told him unless he learns to hunt he’s probably gonna starve to death. Dude has been listening to too much Joe Rogan.

Hutchy didn't know your game laws so if one is all you can get then I guess you need to be careful how much you give away. I have 12 crop tags to fill plus my 6 on my sportsman liscense Only 1 buck but does galore. In zone 1 it is unlimited does here in ky. Just 15 bucks extra for 2 more tags after the first state wide tag. I'd be in heaven.

I don't think it is rude to ask! Is it rude to ask for permission to hunt a place to kill the deer people aren't supposed to ask for ? BUT with that said it depends on the person asking. IF they would help you out with something or are great at showing grattitude then it seems perfectly ok for them to ask LOL This

It depends on the populations , but if you want to travel all over the province I think you can get a few extra tags. But that means several hour drives generally

Some coon and yote jerky might be good to have on hand for the beggers ... I was thinking some possum burger might be a great third choice.

I always get people asking for jerky. Like its simple to do and takes no time. My daughter always wants a bag or two when she is here. This year I told her to come shoot a deer and I will cut it up for you and we can make jerky together. She has agreed. Going to knock down a doe and make jerky for her. Then she can see how easy it really is.
I love making Jerky. Haven't in a while. It is a bit of an event though. Takes time.
