I thinks so I wouldn't go over 40mm on a lever gun

how far do you plan on shooting the BLR

I like something with lower power mounded low as I can get it for the quick shooting short range. I really like 2-7x32 it gets on target fast from feet to about 150 yards , if you need farther you typically have time to adjust to a higher magnification. trying to find a moving target in a scope with it adjusted high or that doesn't go low is an issue
