I was viewing it as sitting in the farther fence, making appear much larger.

I would say its a fly catcher.
Yes, definitely a flyctcher. If yellowish underneath, likely a Great Crested Flycatcher. If whitish underneath, then an Eastern Kingbird, also a flavor of flycatcher. Mockingbirds have visible white markings from just about every angle.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

My first thought was flycatcher.
