It does take a while. I don't know if it's time or nose blindness. Smells like a old hardware store.
Mine is also from logs I cut myself. What I would give for a team of horses. I'll spray/brush it on tomorrow and post up some pics. Apply to the point of refusal as they call it?

You did good!👍 You couldn't do that yourself? Sure could if I had the tools. I bought the wood and he charged me $80.00 to plane it, joint it, biscuit it and put it all together in one flat piece. I couldn't be happier with it. You couldn't do that yourself? Sure could if I had the tools. What does the Z stand for? I must be Amish and not even know it. I always put a Z on the doors I build too. I can't explain why though, it must be the latent Amish tendencies I have.

When I was a kid, a guy converted a house into a mechanic garage. He added oak joists for support. Hem, oak, hem,, one foot centers, Twenty years later I got the job of removing this building. The joists in the center of the room that were oil soaked were rotten. The ones not soaked were reclaimed and still in use today.
I did not google search this. I do remember OLD Chiltons books saying of toxins in used oil.
Nice tractor set up.

great preservative. Never measured. I usually start with 5 quarts (an oil change's worth) and cut with kerosene until its as thin as I want it. Kind of depends on the application. Usually pretty thin. I would say about equal parts. I've had some frustrating days building this cabin, it's from logs I cut myself. This would probably make it easier for me to burn the whole thing down the next time it gives me fits. I have log oil left over from preserving the logs that I intended on using on the door but your idea intrigued me. I'm going to try it. How long does it take for the odor to dissipate? Doesn't matter, I'm going to try it. Did you try it a bit? How'd you like the color and look?

Thanks, Donnie. He did a beautiful job. Seventy-five year old Amish guy missing half of one hand and his thumb bandaged on the other. Table saws. Amish use table saws? Beautiful door, btw! I so love wood work
Hiding our humane dispatches doesn't keep the Antis from showing their own gruesome ones. In this 1 sided story, who will the public believe, then?
