I've hunted in Wyoming on and off since I was 12

I'm 55 now and have 9 preference points for speed Goats .. because while I was saving for my Alaskan Brown bear hunt I just bought Wyoming preference points.

I'm looking to make a TRIP to hunt Lopes next season 2021. And I really want a Trophy lope region to put in for.

I THE hitch is I want State Land, BLM or Walk in only program to hunt on.

Any help from you'all would be great!

I have no idea , but seems in the land of goats nine points should get you a premium hunt

There are B&C goats in about every unit. Overall numbers seem to be down due to last years winter. A quick search of B&C will tell you which counties have produced the most book hosts. Here is my daughters. She drew with 0 points (lucky)

I see some nice goats in Natrona and Carbon counties between Alcova and Miracle Mile. It's mostly BLM land.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

What is the best area to hunt antelope in Wyoming?
2) Area-60, Type-1 (Table Rock): The antelope hunt in Area-60 is always a top-notch choice. This area sits in the heart of Sweetwater County the third best county in the state. With only 75 tags on quota and 75% public land this area is a big buck hunters dream come true.May 23, 2019

Subscribe to Huntin' Fool and Eastmans. Tons of info, there are a lot of options and it's very confusing. There are so many variables, plus first choice, second choice etc. You'll need the MLS from Eastmans and better yet a counselor from Huntin Fool if you are really serious about finding the best possible options for 9 points. They can also advise on styles of hunting, bow, waterhole, Spot & Stalk, you get the idea.

I have 9 points too, I applied for a unit that has 80% chance of drawing with 8 points last year and didn't draw.

I spot and Stalk with a Rifle. Unadvised , but I carry and use a Dutton buck decoy.
Set it up get up high above it and sometimes use a call. Sometimes the lope call brings in coyotes too!

Thank You all for the advice!!!

My thoughts exactly Marty. Sounds like suicide by a hunter.

You ever Have Fun? ^^^ take a chance in life? And use your brain to Avoid All risk?

Decoy is A Dutton folding 2 sided decoy. You carry it in a backpack bag inside an orange vest.

Find a clearing or stalk in within 300 yards of a band with a Buck you might want. And here's part of the Key to safety. Scan your surroundings with your binocs for hunters. They are wearing orange.

Make sure you have a ridge to get up on after you set up the decoy . Set up the young buck decoy and take off the orange vest on it. Walk ^^^^ UP so you are at out of any chance for crossfire. When you are Up but not skylined watch the lopes and Use your Lope call if needed just to get the Bucks attention.

90% of the time the buck will leave its doe herd to try and scare off the interloper
.

I've done this over 100 times since 1990. With no hunter interaction. Just me.

Its Fun and challenging to Not make the Long shot but use skills to bring them in.

Hunt them all the time in mid Oct full rut with decoys most people are done hunting and you still have to wear orange. Never heard of anyone getting shot yet., your not in a wooded area like using a turkey decoy.

Exactly Danvee!!

I've had hunters put stalks on my decoy before! Thats funny to watch ...when they get within range I stand up. They're embarrassed and upset.
