I decided to put out a trap yesterday on my land in a coon trail, what I get will feed the eagles or buzzards, it is not coming home with me. I took another red squirrel down for a swimming lesson, and took a 160 conibear with me, 5th red squirrel under the bird feeder, never had them around here growing up.

Had a 3 dog day yesterday with one cat one grinner and 2 coon. Didn't have my catch pole with me so I couldn't release the coon. The coon were poorly furred but I'll have to skin them. Ill try and get some pics.

I had 4 coyotes the first day, 2 yesterday with 4 coon, 1 skunk and today only 1 coyote and 1 coon. All the coon are in coyote traps. I didn't put any sets out today because I want to see how much snow/rain we get. A lot of the ground I trap is clay so it's gets pretty slippery when wet and I don't want to tear up the fields.
50 years trapping and hopefully another 50 still to come. OK, let's hope for 15 more.

6" of snow here in the Eau Claire area. That sucks when you have coyote sets out in the clay. LOL. Will make a pretty catch picture if they moved last night.

It's been as dry as a pop corn fart here for weeks. But as soon as you get traps In the ground It starts to rain or snow.

You're right Beav, traps in the ground guarantees rain or snow. HA. I stand corrected from my earlier post, we had 7.9" of snow in Eau Claire.

Got a decent coyote today. I dragged a straw bale out In a harvested bean field figuring 100 yards out from the edge would cut down on junk catches. I had 2 sets with In 8 feet or so from the bale. Guess what I had 2 grinners in those 2 sets today. So much for that Idea.

Had 4 grinners today. Snapped off a lot of sets due to the bad conditions. Will have to remake once things dry out.
