Well, so far this year it's been slow for South Carolina standards I've sat 6 times, all evening hunts and seen 1 deer and 5 hogs. Killed 1 hog and passed on the only deer( too small). It is still very warm here( skeeters are bad). Will start to hunt some mornings here soon starting the 23rd of this month when on vacation. Also, the lack of rut activity is very noticeable where i hunt. Our season started 10-1-20 and ends 1-1-21. So a ways to go yet.

So , how many times you folks take a stand during the season? Sarge

I sat opening weekend by a friend's place. Got doe meat.
Next weekend I'll start to hunt again. Good weather to hang meat.

During our 9 day rifle season, I hunt all day every day. The season is during the rut so the bucks are moving all day. I have shot my biggest bucks, 10 over 150 B&C, between noon and 2 in the afternoon. Everyone else are in the house napping and watching football while I'm killing a big buck. Take my lunch, some snacks and a pocket radio to listen to the Huskers.

A day and a half is usually it. I hunt with a party and we usually fill our tags in that time. We usually kill a few nice bucks, but are meat hunters.

Been out 5 times so far. Could of tagged out last night but was looking for some bigger bodied deer. This is the most I've been out archery hunting in years. Never liked most traditional tree stand and never was comfortable in them. Got a tree saddle setup and it's night and day difference.

Usually 15-25 x's between archery, firearms, and alternative methods. Around Nov 9 is usually the best day around here for bucks to be running around. I don't start bow hunting until the last few days of October.

Every weekend and sometimes if the weathers right during the week in the afternoons.
Our rifle season opened today and I took CJ, my 6 year old, to my sons plantation to thin some does. We saw several deer before shooting light, but once it got light all we saw were small bucks. My son on the other hand shot 3 does and quit shooting, lol. It was finally a cool weekend here and the deer moved pretty good.

Sat out 3 times (all from the ground). Passed on 3 deer, missed one with a long bow and flint arrowhead. Got discouraged, took the training wheels out and shot one the next night on public ground.

I am bad to hunt areas I run traps or check cattle so I invest very little time in my own harvest. I will hunt for days to help a friend of family member but deer hunting isn't something I myself invest much time in.

I sat on opening day of archery here, sept 13. Gun season opened today, didn't go. Work has really got in the way this year. Going bowhunting in Illinois, leaving next friday for a week. When I get home, rut should be kicking in here, plan on carrying my son then. I will sit a lot of days before our season goes out jan 1. Good luck to all.

I did not get to hunt this year. I moved and I wasn’t a resident in time to apply, and I’ll be a monkeys uncle if I’m gonna pay $280 for a deer tag as a non resident
