Got a new HP laptop couple of months ago that doesn't work very well .

Restart it ,, have restarted it 5 times in a row , then turn it off and the websites I had open are still on when I turn the computer back on . Never had a computer do that .

Anyway no help from HP or microsoft , 24hr campfire/rimfire central ''420 & 500 BAD REQUEST'' is all that comes on the screen when going to those sites . Greybeard Outdoors did it yesterday but came on today .

Anyway wondering if anybody knows how to get rid of the ads that pop up every 3-4 minutes on youtube ?

Computer won't let me leave bing browser - always had good luck with google and using ADBLOCK/ADBLOCK PLUS , computer says google is a unsecure site . Never saw the ads with google and adblock - I use to like youtube but can't watch it due to the ads - sometimes 3 ads in a row .

Sounds like that device is being held hostage either by its own installed anti-virus or malware.

Looks like a delete and reboot is in your future.

Just one family's perspective, we switched to imac and wished we had sooner! A little learning curve, but I can't see using anything else in the near future. As far as the youtube adds, I let them run on the small channels I watch/support. It helps them generate some revenue.

?maybe --I don't know .

I had a computer tech school me on keeping a computer clean of virus and malware - advice - ALWAYS RESTART the computer before you shut it down . Did that with the last laptop - worked perfect for 5 1/2 years - until it got broke by a friend who knocked it the table .

HP sent me a questionaire about my HP computer buying/using experience of their product .
Told them buying experience was having it handed to me at walmart , using it has been horrible - told them the problems - asked when was someone at HP going to answer my questions . They informed me my reply had been edited and haven't heard from them since . HP NEVER AGAIN that's for sure . Took 1 hour 15 minutes to update a brand new laptop when I first turned it on fresh out of the box .?.

Guess I'll get to spend $50 or $80 dollars getting a new POCrap to work half right .

Are the ads in the videos or popups?

Now when you say the websites are still there when you restart the computer, do you mean the browser comes up automatically? That's odd. The website thing though isn't as many browsers will open up to your last session if you didn't actually close out the tabs you were on.

Ads that can't be closed , ads that can be closed after several seconds before the video will start , ads that cover 25% of the bottom of the video screen and stay there until I close them . More ads that come on during a video sometimes in less than 2min. .

Never had a computer that went back to my last session when the computer got restarted , the restart says 'all apps and work plus other people using the computer work will be lost' . Sometimes it closes far more often every website is open from the Bing homepage to the last page .
Computer doesn't fully charge when shut down then plugged in for charging , unless lid/top is left up , close the laptop completely and it doesn't charge . Although the light on the side shows it's charging - goes from red to blue which should mean fully charged . When turned on after 'charging' all night it show 70-80% charged .
Battery is internal so a Tech would have to change the battery .
This site has blacked out a couple of time while typing this .
Multiple times sending HP messages - no replies yet .
My Yahoo page where i have email address blacks out a lot bing must not want me having a yahoo email . smile

I had no ads whatsoever with my last laptop - google browser w/ adblock+ - none .

Never could get rid of the ads on my phone , going back to a cell phone when this 4 1/2 year old I-5 gives up the ghost .

Blackouts on my computer was the hard drive failing, had to down load what was wanted to a stick, then I got a new one and started over.

Lots of strange things out there, obviously your re-start then shut off is not working to eliminate ads, you might check you settings for memory on sites or storage of past history's, and change the time save on them.

You can also do a delete on your history before logging off, but you should not have to really do this to end your problem

I would guess you have some sort of malware or a redirect virus on the hard drive.

Not sure I follow what's going on or the advice everyone seems to be giving, but ads are part of watching Youtube. You can't make them go away unless you buy their premium service.

You'd think since the invideo ads say you can skip in X seconds, those aren't the ones he's referring to. I hope.

Yup, I know exactly what ads you are talking about and the only way to make them go away is buy the YouTube premium. It’s got nothing to do with your computer, youtube has ads no matter what your computer does unless you pay for the premium.

SNIPERB ,
Yes the 'you can skip ads' are part of the Ads i'd like to get rid of .
My last laptop -Toshiba' had ZERO ADS from youtube NONE , I've never bought anything from youtube , maybe just lucky on that . I thought ADBLOCK got rid of them - been running ADBLOCK for many many years . Never saw Ads that newcomers to websites complain about .

Anyway irritating that 'something?' can totally block me from websites - I wrote it down and researched it - online comments say it's something some goof did to your computer and it's nearly impossible to find out who did it .
Bad Request ; Your browser sent a request that the server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds sever limit .

The 520 Bad Request ; Said I was trying to download something too big and the website blocked me - thinking I'm a spammer - something to that effect . I wasn't downloading anything - I was looking at custom knives on a 24hr-campfire thread .

Thanks guess I'll go see the Geeks and see if they can straighten things out and keep it from happening again .

You can't get rid of in video ads. That's how monetized videos and youtube makes their money. Only way get around it is not watch monetized channels.

520 errors are server side errors, nothing to do with your pc unless something is on your pc is sending you to the wrong addresses.

Try Malwarebytes. It's pretty good for finding malignant files that don't always show up to antivirus software.

You can buy a subscription to YouTube where you pay not to see the ads. Otherwise you will see the ads. No other way around it other than not watching monetized channels, (which are 95% of the channels.)
