I'm watching a YouTube video on Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. I didn't realize its been thirty years since the wall came down. I was there for that. I left a comment on the video.

"30 years? Has it been that long, lol. I was stationed in Grafenwohr when all this went down. Heck, my unit was on the 1K line at the Czech border when the border was opened prior to the wall coming down. We got orders to return to base ASAP. It looked for all the world that West Germany was facing an invasion by DDR civilians in Trabis.
The next few months was eye opening as east Germans fled west. They quickly stripped the stores of bananas and citrus as they hadn't seen those in the east for years."

BTW, it's this memory that is my driving force as to why the left must be defeated at all costs.

I agree 10,000% with that last statement, Warrior! The stupidity has got to end, or this country won't survive. Thank God there are a lot of patriots, but leadership is badly needed.

Warrior, I had an uncle there when the wall came down. He told me some stories about how the east germans came over. He said many were crying and thanking anyone or everyone they could. He was in the army, but I have no idea what unit or any such stuff.

I remember that time pretty well.

I have faith in the American ideal and believe we will survive even if we have to do so by exercising our God given rights to do so.

Warrior- I don't know if you ever heard this or not but I read somewhere at the time that the East Germans had never seen either Gone with the Wind or The Wizard of Oz before the commies in East Germany split. Both movies came out in 1939 and first Hitler wouldn't let Germans see them and then the Soviets and their commie German weasels wouldn't let the East Germans see the movies.
