So... it's like a rustic fanny pack? Shots fired. Nice belt pouch, Nessie. Charlie

Nice ! The leatha looks like it might be nubuck ? A soft pliable feel , silky to touch. Nubuck leatha saddles are a dream to ride.
You're all set !
Don’t know a dang thing about horse saddles...lol ..But this is pretty stiff ....to keep its shape. But these contemporary leathah guys have a way to age it....

Ok then ! I was just comparing to saddle leathah ...the object doesn't matter, the feel and look of the product is all I was saying. Looks soft and silky.
Fibings lanolin/silicone oil does wonders for all things leathah . Makes it soft and conditions well. Now all you need is the rifle, bear claw necklace and swede outfit ! Oh boy....my written word was not intended ...you know where Iam going with this. It is smooth to the touch.

I have a couple breechcloths I could loan ya, Nessie! They are nice trade wool but my wife sewed in some cotton linings for them...for those hot, chafy days. Many miles and camps on those!
Moosetrot Is that 1780 period correct underware ?.......

Pretty sweet bag! Looks like his awl got a little bit away from him on the one side on the back though. I’m curious whether it’s veg tan or not. There are a few leathers that ought not be used for sheathing metals...like crime tan. It will cause corrosion. Don’t think it’s veg tanned

Chrome tan, lol not “crime” tan. Unless any metal rests in there it should be fine. I’ve seen a few revolvers left in a non veg tan holster that corroded badly. Not sure about brain tan... I wanted a Bark Tanned one....but he didn’t have any. But he distresses the leather ,for that aged look....and Iam happy with it.

Nice belt bag there Ness. Looks a bit like it was inspired by the Lyman pounch. That should definitely help you keep all your smootie shootin stuff organized.
I need to get my leather and tools out, there's a new rifle that is almost ready to head my way and it needs a bag. Yes ! ...the leather guy said a Lyman style would work for me. Make sure you post some pics of your new gun . That reminds me...I have not had a new smoke pole in about 4 years...Iam due. And I know it would be .54 cal with 44 in barrel Flintah....but don’t have a style picked out yet. Who’s building your gun ? I was thinking of Roy Stroh ..up in Maine for my build....
