That's a nice gun Matt. Wish you had brought it to the convention I would have put some fingerprints on it lol.

Lol I would have brought it if I would have had all the kinks worked out of it. We have been working on some loads and if we get the scope deal worked out I hope to kill a few deer with it this year.

Matt, I think rather than 2 front "rings" I think you need 2 front bases. An example would be a Weaver #35, 2 of them. I'm not familiar with any ring sets that use two different heights. Too difficult to get holes that support the scope to be co-linear.

I bet your right. I got mixed up I guess. What kind of scope do you like to use? I went with Vortex because that's what was suggested. I was looking at some leupold. I figured them two had the best warranty.

I have one Nikon, a 4x16, and a bunch of Leupolds, a 1.5x5, several 2x7 and 3x9, a couple 4x12 and a couple straight 12's. The one and only Vortex I had came completely apart internally on the 6th shot I took with it. My LGS played it up good, "as good or better than a Leupold". Bullcrap! I gave them another $50 and got a Leupold that has been pounded on by the same gun for almost 4 years, a 460 S&W Encore rifle. I do like the Nikon 4x16. It's got all the bells and whistles. Its on a Remington 700 Long Range in 300 Win Mag that I have tuned to 5/8 inch at 200 yards. It is a first focal plane scope. My recommendation is Leupold. I once bought a 2x pistol scope that literally rattled for real cheap. Put it on a 22 auto pistol and shot squirrels for a whole season and did very well. End of the season I sent it in and got it back about a week later all fixed, no charge.

Yup your scope would be canted up instead of down. Which would explain why you cant get enough downward travel out of your turret

Measure your rail with a mic if you have one or a tape if not. The smaller end should be forward (barrel side( of the action
