I had the pleasure of driving my son to work this morning. The conversation this morning was the state of the world. lol
The way he sees it:
“I’d like to think there is more good in the world than bad. More blue collar, salt of the earth people who are so busy with their lives that they really aren’t worried about others but are generous enough to assist in a crisis.”
Most of the trouble comes from the poor and the wealthy. The poor act up out of desperation. The wealthy, not the wealth origination, but those that have lived nothing but wealth act up because of boredom and thoughts of being better than others or “above the law.”
He’s not really a sportsman. He’s more of a bookworm although he has accompanied me on beaver jobs and my canine line. Just thought I’d share.
I remind my boys often that America is the most generous country in the world. No country comes close to the donations per person that U.S. citizens give to charities or when a disaster hits anywhere in the world. The main reason for our generosity is very important to explain to the younger generations.
Simply put.. Other countries citizens EXPECT government to take care of everything. So there’s no reason to give out of your own pocket. Vast majority of Americans still believe that we must take care of each other, so we give freely and often. This is changing fast as the liberal mentality creeps into our society.
Exactly right, Brad. The me me me of the liberal world is astounding. That is all you ever hear out of that bunch. Sure wish we could right that ship, but it's a mentaliy that has been pushed by the left and goes hand in hand by their rejection of religion.
I'll prolly get attacted on that one!
YOU CAN IGNORE REALITY, BUT YOU CANNOT IGNORE THE CONSEQUENCES OF IGNORING REALITY.
Here are a couple videos of a nice calm drive through our little town. I apologize that it isn’t one video but the guy in the silver pickup at the end of the first vid stopped me to ask if I had heard anything on muskrat prices this year. lol
Quite a wise observation by your son. It reminds me of something I read in the book of Proverbs:
Quote
give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
It's not good to be too poor or too wealthy. Thanks be to God who gives us just exactly what we need of both good and bad each day - nothing more and nothing less.
