North.. I had a very busy year scheduled up there this year. My busiest ever for upscale fishing groups. My fishing groups would have brought long over 130k American to Canada. May not seem like much but I am only one person. I cannot imagine overall what Canada lost. This does not include fall bird hunting groups. Someone mentioned a big year of recoup for Canada next year, I’m not so sure it will be that great as most places I booked into flipped all current depositors to next year rather than refund. A lost year for Canadian outfitters for sure.

Yukon No one from the states that I know of were allowed across the border, to this day. Essential services only tho I do not know what those were. I have handled fisherman across the border for decades. Sons of fathers who used me way back when and more and more business people call each year to have trips set up for exactly what they want. From the arctic to Costa Rica. I’d happily answer your questions or refer you to someone who could do so better than me.

I was in the boundary waters this summer. The place was over ran with people, several I talked to would have preferred Quetico I was up on the motorized edges there with people twice this summer, not my norm. Beautiful country but the steady stream of people, and I do mean steady, going by was surprising. Not my cup of tea. Osky

Here in Missouri we barley shut down they said The state said nonessential workers dont go to work here is some subsidized unemployment get outside and enjoy the out doors they even waived fishing liscence requirements . The crush of people[ many from states that were shut down ] on the lakes rivers was unreal . If Canada had not closed the boarder you would of had a record year . Absolutely. Between Minnesotans getting covid money and money saved not going on vacations south last winter combined with the hot economy I think Canada lost out big time. Instead here in northern MN I thought I would never see in my lifetime the number of atv and side by sides on the trails here this past summer. New boats everywhere. I guess people stayed home and spent. I could not get across this fall for the snow goose migration with my groups either. I know safety but what a revenue loss up there. Osky
