For any one that is interested, here is an update of what is happening with NAFA. They are in the process of vacating their main facility in Toronto. There will be communication disruptions from October 26 until November 3. I have no idea where they are relocating to. They are operating with a very minimal staff. The fixtures in the building - racks, balers, tagging equipment, office supplies, kitchen equipment, etc. - is all for sale on.a liquidators auction site. They have disposed of all the fur they had on hand after the October 2019 announcement. The court appointee is in the process of wrapping up the financial part of the above fur sales. Shippers with goods that were sold between October 31, 2019 and the present will be receiving a check from the court appointee some time in the next couple of weeks. Shippers that have bounced checks from the August 2019 sale are still low man on the totem pole. How to handle all of those situations is still under discussion, Here is a link to the entire announcement. https://www.nafa.ca/I’m just reporting information. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Thanks for the info. I had 30 each beavers and coons there. My account showed 27 beavers sold and no other info. I’ll look again. You might have difficulty accessing their web site over the next week to 10 days. It should be back up and running by November 5. Please be patient.

Am I reading this right, all the fur they were holding has been sold? "They have disposed of all the fur they had on hand after the October 2019 announcement." I would say they sold everything of any value and "disposed" of anything else. This has been done before. If it had no value in this market it leaves a lot up to interpretation to value. LLL

The last time I checked, I saw the following -
Ranch fox - all sold. I know the person that bought the last 2 lots in the PT catalog
Ranch mink - most of the more popular colors (black, white, sapphire, jaguar, etc) were mostly sold. They were still holding lots of your basic brown colors (Demi, mahogany, etc). By lots, I mean tens of thousands.
Wild fur - most of it had been sold. Still had a few bobcats and 51,000 possum. And a few odds and ends.
Now, just because they sold them doesn’t mean that got decent or even semi-decent money for the pelts. I heard through they “sold” all the red fox to some one at a package deal price. Less than $5.00 average, straight through.
If anyone has an extra five ground sitting around looking for an investment, they could control the possum market. The price in the PT catalog was 10 cents, straight across the board. All grades. All sizes.

I got a quarter for a nice big grinner in their recent sale. The other 2 I have there, they can throw away. No problem.
But, the the management people who were there in the summer of 2019 and conducted that auction are still un-indicted criminals, right? The money they received for that August sales went into their company (their own) pockets and not to the shippers. I've known people who have sat in the state pen for using a client's money and then never re-payng it. Its called theft. I'm not out much, but white-collar theft leaves as bad of a taste in my mouth as a burglary. Just done in different means...

The nafa executives received their normal salary but they did NOT steal the money from the August sale. No, wissmiss, you are wrong. The NAFA executives may not have intentionally stole the shippers money at that time, but they robbed Paul to pay Peter and then got caught holding the bag when their credit dried up. The shippers money should have NEVER been mingled with their daily operating expenses. Like I said earlier, I've know people who have done prison time for doing exactly what the NAFA management did. Default theft is still theft in the end...

NAFA's fire sale could be 1 reason the cats didn't sell well at the fha sale. I had 1 cat that nafa valued at 800 bucks, 3 others for 350. They sold for 170 and 74 collectively. If the buyers knew or had inside info on nafas fire sale why not wait for a bargain whether you're an end user or even a speculator? I've had communication with nafa and my link to their site may be different from the main one. If anyone is interested in that link to post here, pm me, i will email to you.

I agree wissmiss, but do you agree that my hypothesis could also be true? How is it that nafa has miraculously sold almost everything but possums in these trying times. Not shooting the messenger, just asking. Lol

Y'all should have sold to Groeny... NAFA did. Pretty good source. GFW bought most of the wild fur. Little over 2 million $. Prices I heard on different species was horribly low, but if I was buying that big a bunch it would have to be dirt cheap as well.
