Listening to Rush, there's a lot of folks in California even, as well as other states that are pulling for Trump. When it comes to the Electoral votes, doesn't it still take an honest "electorate" to cast that vote? Regardless of their personal feelings?

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

The Constitution states that each state is to elect a slate of electors proportional to population. It does not specify how. In practice that has been via popular vote with the winning slate (each party nominates a slate) almost always bound by law to a candidate for at least the first ballot in the college. Some states split their electors, Maine and Nebraska are two that do.
While there have been faithless electors for the most part they are party chosen faithful and bound by law.

There's a pretty good selection phase for electors. I think last time a few had to be replaced. Some states have faithless elector laws to prevent this from happening. 2016 was possibly the worst year for it by far.

Pennsylvania is going to be very interesting to watch.

The PA state supreme court has already shafted the GOP by ignoring the law passed by the PA legislature concerning receipt of ballots in a timely manner. GOP appealed to SCOTUS where Roberts again shafted the GOP . Now the State GOP has once more taken the case to SCOTUS asking it be heard on the merits rather than just asking for a stay of the state supreme court decision.

Barrett will now have an opportunity to weigh in.

The fun part is that the PA legislature can, by Constitutional authority, throw out ALL election returns an decide themselves who gets the 20 electoral votes from PA. The state legislature is controlled by the GOP.
Heads could explode ! laugh

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously this summer that faithless electors must vote for the candidate supported by their state or face penalties and/or removal.
