I've got a T/C Compass in 6.5 Creedmoor that has been alot of fun to shoot and work up loads for. Recently, I picked up a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 scope, and would like to mount it on this rifle. There is an EGW 20 MOA base on it's way to my door, as I'm a fan of the one-piece picatinny rail bases. Does anyone have an idea of what height scope rings I'll need to make sure the bell of the scope, with a 3-4" sunshade, will clear the barrel? I know, I should wait until after mounting the new base, then measure saddle height of the scope and go from there, but I'd really like to be able to get this scope mounted THIS WEEK if possible. Thanks!

(Please don't turn this into a "6.5 CM is a garbage caliber/6.5 is CM is a miracle!" thread. There are enough of them out there.)

the votex optics I have mounted needed a high for the bell at the eye piece end to clear the pic rail

https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-diamondback-tactical-4-12x40-riflescope.html the H2 measurement is 1.71

the viper looked to be 1.8 for the H2 measurement

weaver high and Vortex High are not the same thing

a weaver high will not be high enough a weaver high is the absolute lowest a Vortex 2-7x32 crossfire 2 can sit

H1 = 2.3 /2 = 1.150" from center to bottom edge
H2 = 1.81 /2 = 0.905" from center to bottom edge

https://vortexoptics.com/viper-pst-gen-2-5-25x50.html?vortex_reticle=855

the Vortex 30mm high say 1.26
the next lower is 0.970 center to mounting base

unless you order both 1.26" center to base is what I would use
