A roomate in college had one mounted and I always liked it. The one you shot is a perfect mature bird. A mount of him standing on a piece of driftwood would be very cool. The young brook trout of Maine thank you. Pete

slydogx trapper S Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 3,298 Ontario, Canada	Beautiful specimen, certainly worthy of the taxidermy treatment Back when I hunted ducks regularly on Lake St Clair I could have filled a sea can with dead hoodies if I had cared to shoot them LOL. Now I may regret never taking one for the wall and I hope you'll post pics of the mount when it's complete. They seem to show up here once the weather gets (and stays) really cold and nasty near the end of season and they never leave unless the Detroit River freezes solid... they are definitely a cold tolerant bird around here. Just happy to be here.

I have taken a few hooded mergansers and a lot of wood ducks one canvas back and a few very pretty American wigeons, u have got the blue and green wind teal but not a cinnamon teal yet. Ijust never could find a good duck taxidermy to take them to. Hope yours turns out real great.
