It's the only opening I have in my cabin so far, I've been crawling under or climbing over since I began construction. Scared to death to cut a door or window opening in the log work.

Mine will be a maniacal laughter when the thing collapses. Then I'll burn it.

Thanks, 330. Getting closer all the time, so isn't the snow. My nemesis.

Thanks for the interest, guys, will do on the pics. I had the rough cut lumber (rafters, roof decking, gable boards) milled locally. The Amish call it T&T Lumber...thick and thin. They were right. It's pretty close as far as the width of the boards go but there is some variation in the thickness. Not bad but noticeable in some boards. I wanted rustic and that's what I got.

I recall building several log homes over the past 30 years and firing up the chainsaw to cut in the doors and windows would always make me pucker up. Fortunately I never messed up as I always triple checked and then had someone else check.my work. Looking good, can't wait to see it with windows!

Looks good. You can strap the logs before you cut just in case.

I agree- that is impressive and I'd love to see the rest of it as you get it put together.
