Good lures have quite a bit of staying power. I set on Sunday also. Didn't make any catches the first night but have everyday since, coons, fox, and skunk. I haven't put down any new lure yet. I have not made any catches yet. I do only have 6 traps out though. I know the coyotes are there I have them on trail cam. And I've caught many in the past so I know I'm doing things right

You can't really over lure with quality lures and baits. If in doubt, I give it some more. Too little can work now and again. More outproduces a little most often. Ever notice how your line comes alive just after you "relure" the line?
I can't speak for any other lures and baits because I don't know what they have in them. I've used MIlligans, Carmans, Blackies, in my 50 years of trapping and have never found these brands to suffer from "over luring." All good quality in the ones we've used as changeups to our own. Gonna try some of Bossmans this year as a changeup too. We hear Dig'r is really working.
Give it to 'em.
Blessings, Mark

Now Hobbie. You make me smile. Would I lie? LOL We're selling goo this year like... well I can't explain it.
Covid time off work for trappers? (maybe) Word of mouth after 36 years? (Ah not) My ads were just so much better? (not) We have no idea. Just got an order Tuesday from a dealer usually orders a hundred bucks worth each fall. Couple grand. Maybe the "no" conventions this year has the biz funneled to a few of us who've "been around." Donna and I have no idea. Any idea why lure sales (for predators mostly) but even mink, raccoon, and beaver are ^^^^^^^?
Blessings, Mark

If an animal really likes a lure or bait they can't get enough of it. if it only has a mild curiosity appeal to them then maybe that curiosity can be fulfilled from a distance if too much is used. That's my experience from testing formulations. Coyotes do have an amazing nose and have surprised me how long they can smell a good lure. I well say a lot of top shelf attractants (single ingredients) for coyotes will cause a rolling response if too much is used especially at flat sets. So sometimes caution must be used for this purpose.

I live in pretty dry country, rain is almost never an issue. Around here if I lose confidence in the location before I lose confidence in the lure. When I trapped in Montana where there was more rain I would re lure after a week or so if we had significant rain. I think if a lure is faint it might grab a critters curiosity more, where a fresh lure will trigger an aggressive or territorial response. But heck I don’t know. In my opinion a good bait that a coyote wants to eat is the best thing. If you get them digging up your bait you pretty much got em, assuming your set is constructed well

I have one stick that I lured once obviously months ago, because I can't even remember... it was so long ago. ...at my trail camera set up. I wish I could remember what lure it was. Coon and fox and even possums still sniff it. That thing has been through every kind of weather. We can't even imagine how good their noses are. That being said I do re lure after heavy rain. I don't think you can overdo urine or gland, but skunk is a different story
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.
