My gas grill is on its last legs, I plan on getting a new rig in the spring. I also have a masterbuilt electric smoker that does ok, but I like the idea of a do it all pellet grill.

Man I love mine. Burgers, chicken legs, steaks OMG !! I like the mesquite pellets best. Have tried hickory, blend ,apple, and mes. Pork chops will melt in your mouth. Whole chickens OH YES ! Inject the chickens with a blend of teriaky and BBQ sauce. Best part is heat the grill put it on and wait. no more flipping like a gas grill. I turn most things once and done. One thing MAKE sure you clean it after no more than 2 uses. The drippings on the metal heat disperser will taint the floavor if you don't burn it off. I just remove the plate a scrub with grill brush then spray it with hose. Put back together and lite it.

My son just got a RecTeq and loves it. He cooks on it every day, lol. I like it too because there’s only the two of them and I get the leftovers!

I've cook meals on an open fire many times. Used charcoal, propane, wood. Still do, depends on where and what i'm doing. BUT

I'll stick to my Traeger grill when at home. Slow and low. Sarge

pellet grills sure make it easy . I cook breakfast on ours occasionally before work sart my coffe and start grill then get then through bakon and sausage patties on and a skillet for eggs . go and get dressed then put some toast on and have sausage bacon and egg sandwiches . all off the grill .
One of the best things is a spatchcock turkey you can do a 24lb bird in two hours .

Ok I guess an electric / gas stove is "country". What do you cook on open fire with a stick ran thru a piece of meat?
