Looking for a vest for my boykin spaniel. Something to protect him keep him warm and with some flotation. Im new to dogs and waterfowl and was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations?
Thanks-LC

Keep a eye on the front leg holes after you find a vest that fits well I'd suggest cutting the leg holes out a bit larger than what you think , it may sound funny but I tried to cut those holes on a angle so there's no sharp edges to rub or cut the dog around the thin hair a bottle of blood stop from your local vet maybe a good idea just in case.

Like the others stated rubbing can be a problem. The neoprene vest I had rubbed the dog bad. I ended up with a vest made of the same material as a pfd; nylon outer with foam flotation. It had a couple adjustable straps, just like a pfd and very importantly a handle on the back so I could lift the dog out of the water if needed. Definitely helped with warmth and the flotation on long swims was a big deal.

Not sure, it's been a while now. Maybe Sportsmans warehouse. Pretty sure I found it local in Anchorage.

I'd suggest zip tieing a trap tag with your contact information on it onto the zipper just in case as well as writing it on the vest if it's camo with a Sharpe you never know what can happen while out hunting ha ha Allan

thanks for some insight all. yeah i am not sure about not have a vest but i no he gets cold fairly easily. i keep him inside with me so he's not the toughest of dogs. and he is spaniel so im a little worried about cold long retrieves. i am no hardcore duck hunter so i im just trying to get a picture of what i should need for him. great info thanks again.
