Has anyone ever put together a chart showing how long each type of animal hide usually takes to dry?

For instance, I have more coons than I have boards right now so I had to freeze one. How long does a raccoon take to dry? I usually just leave them "a while." But what is a good number of days?

Thanks.

There is a lot of variables to how long it takes to dry a pelt.
Temp,humidity,and how it is processed.
Under ideal conditions( low humidity and lower temps, for a normally scraped pelt)3-4 days will be correct.Nice flexible leathery dry hide which is what the trade wants.
Now if you have high heat low humidity it will be much shorter-perhaps 12 hours. But then you get burnt papery/boardy leather which cracks when bent, which is not good.
And if you have low temps high humidity it may take a week or 10 days-perhaps problems with slippage and mold in some cases.

With 70°F in my part of NY now and no relief in sight. I skinned and froze everything so far and will wait for it to cool down a little. No fun for me sweating like a dog fleshing. As Boco said too many variables in dry time for a timetable

I get the very best leather on beaver from frost scraped skins, dried at 10-12c with low humidity.

Use a dehumidifier and not a heater like some have tried. It will shorten your drying time some......jk
