Its not faulty per se, just overly sensitive and most positives from a PCR should be negative.

Again its not that the test is faulty. Another analogy might be better...you catch a possum out of 50 possum sets, Congratulations you're a successful trapper. That's what this high cycle threshold is doing, any trace of the virus can throw a positive.

people are testing positive everywhere around here at this point 1/3 of the folks coming to thanksgiving have had it . there will still be more than thirty here for thanksgiving this year . The old folks are more afraid of missing time with the family (or maybe the turkey and home made noodles ) than they are covid

The quarantine is being enforced by those private sector firms or all firms that don't want to take on the liability of having known COVID exposed workers on site. That is one of the real issues with this virus as exposure causes great reduction in those that can go to work. Hopefully as we learn more we can find better ways to deal with that. There are hospitals in ND that are requiring their staff to stay on site even when positive as they are at 100% capacity. If more of that has to be done we will see even greater numbers and sharper spikes. The good news is that very, very few become ill enough to be hospitalized or die, the bad news is we don't know who those will be even in the younger population. One of our son's former co-workers ag 59, healthy and active got COVID and stayed home to many days. When his wife got sick they went to the hospital, she is home he never left and is now on a vent and is septic and in hospice. You just never no and thus being careful and respectful of others makes sense.

Our inpatient numbers have more than doubled in the past week. The way it’s trending we’re about to see some pretty bad stats. Just for reference the active infections in our hospital is twice as many as it was at any point in the spring. I work at a large hospital in KC. Can’t really say more
