Nice to see this book back in print (as per ad in american trapper) Blak Spot... BIG THANKS for this post. I've been checking Amazon and the used book site, but am reluctant to spend $200.00 for a book. Never read it but heard it's suppose to be great. The greatest reading book on the trapping life is Traplines North. I had two copies and sold one to a gentleman in Iowa. If it's half as good as TLN, it'll be a bargain. THANKS AGAIN!

Imissed.....
About 10 years ago I was looking over the PCS trapping supply site and came upon a book that was long out of print, but they had hard bound copies of it. It was The Call of the Hounds" by Del Cameron. It was only about $24.00 shipped. Ordered one, and I should have ordered a bunch of them, as somebody pried it out of my hands a few years ago.
The book was hard bound, colored cover and was self published by Del. Del was, and stil is a noted hound man from Montana, and used to run ads in Outdoor Life regarding his guided lion hunts. Super good read!
I think that authors, when the demand for books goes down, will dump whatever they have left to a wholesaler, who in turns sells to different outlets.
I'm afraid that's what happened to the Traplines North reprint.... They had a website up at one time and still have pictures of the First Edition of that book, which comes with a blue dust jacket, rather than the red themed dust jackets on later editions.
If anybody knows the vendors who have this book for sale, please post the name of the site or store.
Thanks!

Awesome book, I had an original copy and as I recall it was rather expensive.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Mike handles my products (books and lures) and can take credit card, etc. He is a great guy to deal with. Thanks, Newt

I purchased mine from John Houben. I found myself glued to it. Chick Ferguson had a way with words. The descriptions and detail transported me to an era in time that would have been remarkably hard for any man. For he and his dear Mary to endure such a hard life for that many years is quite a story. My Bride of 37 years won't even ride with me on my four wheeler to check traps or watch me skin an animal. I am glad that Mr. Ferguson put it in all down on paper, and that Mr. Houben put it back into publication for future generations to enjoy.

We still have time before Christmas to get a copy of Mink, Mary and Me shipped to you. If you are interested PM me or look for our ads in the major trapping magazines.
