To me this is pretty amazing. A friend of my wives made it.

She makes a mold to make this. She made a mold of her hand. If you could look at the skull you would think it was real. She has also done a roe deer and antelope. Skull they look like real skull down to the fins in the nasal passage. The skull is hollow also.

Very nice art. Reminds me of the exquisite detailed cast resin horses made for painting.

I bet a small light inside the skull would make an amazing night light and send details into the hand with fascinating results too.

Below is a link to her studio. She explains her method of creating the glass on glass articles.

Doing something like this with glass is a pretty complex thing. I bet that these pieces were in the kiln 7-8 days heating up slow between 1500 and 2000 degrees and cooling slow to aneil. If you cast this and just shut it off, chances are it would break within a few hours. Glass can be fine and if not aneilled right can bust up to months later. It is way more then dump a slushy in a mold and cooking it. It is not a fast process. I be she worked on these two pieces for months. She was asking me about barrowing a rifle to cast to set net to the skull about a year ago.
