Rifle deer season starts here Saturday. While checking traps this morning 2.5 miles from any public county road, I was re-bedding a crusted over trap and looked up to see some honyok driving towards me. My pickup was parked in a little wash not fully visible unless you were looking for it and its got lots of mud camo on it right now. Up over the hill he comes as I just watch in disbelief as a trespasser is going to end up in my lap or one of my buddys won the lottery and got a new rig. He stops on the hill and starts glassing area for few seconds scans across my pickup sees me panics and does a 180. I didnt even chase him or try and stop him, just called my pops and had him set at end of road that he had to leave on and get his plates. It was actually just entertaining, much like busting a coyote when you pop over a hill, stops, looks, panics, runs... I bet he dont stop by again, if so I can say “ remember me”? But safety first he did have his blaze orange hat on already, that one has always been perplexing to me. The amount of people that have been caught hunting where they know they shouldn’t be dressed head to toe in blaze orange, you know that is meant to be visible right???

No, I didnt press the issue today I was feeling nice. Plus I really enjoyed watching him freak out and race out of there. If he decides to come back, my demeanor will change abruptly. I can see the road he has to come in on from my yard, and theres only one way out if you still want a functional pickup when you get to the bottom.

Up here some dip stick poached a cow moose not to far from town who knows what they were thinking they may of thought it was a cow elk it's hard to say other than they wasted a bunch of good eating and a valuable resource . As for your situation how tough is it to of stopped and asked permission and do the right thing then continue on after hearing a response one way or the other ?

I’ve been dreading this weekend for a month. Pheasant season opener is Saturday. I am guaranteed to chew a butt or two this weekend. I will never understand the mentality it takes to just hop out of the truck and start walking on someone’s property. I bet a million they wouldn’t go walking across lawns in their neighborhood, but this is hickville so laws and rules regarding personal property don’t apply.
Everything the left touches it destroys

I deal with so many idiots up on this chunk of ground it was kinda nice to just scare the crap out of one, most of the people that I have pressed charges against have fought it in court and then I also have to go to court. One guy shot over me and my pickup one year at a deer I passed on and it walked out of a wash, I did chase, chew, and charge him. He ended up paying about 10K in fines and court cost. There will be one this year also Im sure of it.
