You definitely need to. I picked up a couple of very nice fur knives from Jack (Gulo on here). I can tell a lot went into the craftsmanship of these knives. They feel excellent in the hand. Smooth wooden handles that fit my hands perfectly and razor sharp blades on both of them. I was in need of some quality skinning/pelting knives and these are perfect. Figure they'll be in my fur shed for the rest of my trapping days. For some reason, I have tried to upload pics and Imgur is not treating me well tonight. I'll upload if they ever get onto Imgur and I can transfer them. Hope everyone is having success this year. Tight chains.

Yes sir, WI , Jack's knives are works of art and do the job to perfection. In multi usage subjects too. I have found I can use them to make perfect whiskers in using the point as scrimshaw tools, whisking away outer layers of colour down to the white base , making amazing whiskers when they need to be white.

For precision work in just about anything, I have them at arms length all the time in my office. Beautiful useful art. Made from an artist, for artists , in many talents.

Got 2 of his beaver knives. Excellent job on making them. They are almost to nice to use.... but I bought them to use and they work. I'm pretty hard on stuff but these couple beauties are holding up just fine. Highly recommend.

Everyone that's chimed in, many, many thanks...

I try for a product that's utilitarian. I became disappointed a couple years ago with the commercial pelters and just wanted something that would be comfortable, hold an edge, and not "egg-out" after 2 months of everyday use. I experimented with many different steels, and finally found what I liked. They (for me, especially the pelter) get daily workouts, and I'm generally happy with the way they work for me and the way they're holding up to abuse.

Again, thanks you all for the kind words. I sincerely hope those knives last you well into the future.

Jack

They’re nice knives. I have all three. Would definitely recommend them if you like craftsmanship, quality, and function at a great price, Made in the USA!

I also have a pelter and skinner from Gulo and they are well made. Great fit in the hand which means good control. Bought his book too. Great read!
