I bought a 2x8 about 2 weeks ago and paid way too much for it. Anyone have an update on lumber prices?

A week or so you asked me about this. I got a response back from my supplier and posted it. Maybe you missed it.

All lumber is crazy today I wanted to build a new chicken run but it would of cost over $250 for the framing and wire only. I dug up some scrap lumber and wire to make it work. The chicks will move to the main coop in a few weeks just could not see spending that on that timeframe.

Pressure treated is a joke anymore, might last 10 years if your lucky! Logger buddy's of mine can't find anyone to buy their tree's and lumber price's
remain sky high, i can't figure it out, doesn't make sense. Pulp wood is about all they can sell down here, at least we'll have toilet paper for the time being!

Use hedge or cedar it'll last a long time I've heard locust will last but I'm not sure on it.

Every time I buy a board it makes me want to build a sawmill and just cut my own. Kills me how expensive it is.

I run a sawmill and let me tell you its worth it if your planning on building something. Most townships won't let you build with non graded lumber though so check before you invest in one.

if you're talking about black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia)...an old farmer once told me that (as a fence post), it'll last ten years longer than forever.
