It's my honor, all you Trappers. Many thanks for the kind words and the knife orders. I ran a short red fox snare line this morning, and only brought home one fox, thus I didn't lose too much money, and probably made about 6 cents today on fur. (Counting my gas money, I probably only lost about $10). I can lose at least that much on knives, assuming my time is worth about a nickel an hour.

I'm gonna have to get a set of these. I've got a block of eastern black walnut that part of is going into a custom recurve. May have to get the knife handles made to match. Hmmmmm

Gulo, I have a set of bull ivory from my first bull elk I killed a few years ago. Have you ever cut something like that in half and inlayed it into a handle? They are above special to me for reasons I won’t go into on here. Just wondering no big deal if you haven’t done something like that. Thanks

Again, many, many thanks for all the good words and the recent knife orders. It's much appreciated folks. Pawnee - I've not experimented with inlays into the scales. You've got me thinking, however. I've got a pile of ivories, most from wolf or lion kills that I've picked up over the years. I'll do some experimenting with inlays and epoxy and see what I can come up with. Don't hold your breath, as it may be a while, but I'll keep you informed. I'll not have the time for at least another month, as I'm wasting most of my days trapping, trying my best to lose as much money as I can that way rather than losing it making knives. Jack

It looks like I may have started a small trend by mentioning that you used wood I sent for my scales. I know you aren't a big fan of that as much of the stuff sent to you is not suitable for scales. Also, because you have scales made in advance, it will take you more time to mill wood sent to you.
In my defense, I did clear mentioning that with you months ago after receiving my knives.
Still, sorry if I caused you extra work.
Eh...wot?

I use and love mine, no saving them for the next guy here. I will probly lose mine before I wear it out. Gulo donated some hear in montana, I got two of the 3 at the f.b.u. banquet auction. Double thank you gulo, anyone that donates a well crafted product to a auction. I paid a fair price I'm sure , and didn't even know of the knifes. Went off of looks.
Let me sugar coat this
