I am not much for canned established religious cults.

I do believe, as some of the modern, and ancient religions, that each of us is born containing a part of the creator. That part might be translated to "soul" or whatever else. But, it is that part that gives us direction, and solves impossible problems in our sleep, etc. It is that part, that makes us an individual. Whatever happens after death is unknown to any living being.

I feel you. I'm kind of the opposite. I was probably agnostic at best but through my 29s into my 39s I became more religious. I personally don't believe good people go to heaven and bad people go to h3ll. Sounds too much like extortion.

There's no argument to be had. It is what it is.

I cannot see this universe existing by chance. From there, I have to discover what kind of Being would create such a beautiful world. It's not that I just followed a religion. It's that I am compelled to seek truth and I can not find it in anyone but the One who is the way and the Truth.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Two lines I appreciate your frankness, usually this is just met with attack, I'm always open to discussion with any that disagree we however never get past the attack explaining why I am wrong. Thank you for disagreeing peacefully

I'd say I'm pretty much same as you.

As far as tho that use the natural world and the wonders of it as proof I'd say the more you learn/know of the natural world the more you realize that its pretty screwed up.
There is no balance in nature, its a dog eat dog living. Everything is fighting for survival.

What I don’t understand is “ you have to believe”? You can’t make yourself believe something? I guess I’m neutral. I have no idea what happens after death but I’ve never seen anything that would make me think other than nothing. Have faith they say which is believing without proof, right? I don’t see how anyone can be forced or force themselves to believe something that life has shown otherwise? If I saw a river part or something, it would be different. I have a sense of right and wrong that I believe in and try to live by it. I have no idea where I learned right from wrong? As I said, I have no clue what happens after death.

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

Wild_wi, you’re not alone. I personally don’t believe any religion, know far more people who think like me then ones that don’t. Religion is cultural. I know I’ll get attacked for saying it but I could care less. Absence of evidence made my mind up. I know those that are all in , heart and soul, will say the evidence is everywhere, but it’s not. Sitting out in nature and thinking it’s all from a creator actually reduces it to something far less impressive than what I believe it to be based on the evidence I’ve accepted, in my eyes. It’s an argument that’ll never end, don’t worry about it. You’re definitely from a country that is an anomaly when it comes to religion, it’s generally reserved for the places with the poorest life quality in today’s age.

When I die, I think I die, my energy goes back to the earth, people cry and in a few generations it’s like I never existed and my big shoulder mounts end up in a landfill or in some non relations cabin.

It's the churches and the people in them that cause me to have serious doubts.

I've actually been giving religion/spirituality a lot of thought lately. The needle has moved some but I'm not going back to church. It might be something I do on my own.

I knew I couldn't be the only one, its nice to see others view the world through a somewhat similar lens. I'm not trying to convert anyone like I said I was just seeing if it was just me

I was never forced into believing in God. I was raised in a christian home, but went down a dark path in my teens and early 20's. The thing that changed my life was I lied to a guys face that did a lot for me. I went to his house to tell him I lied to him and he said he knew I did and forgave me. Right then I knew I had to change my life around. God loves everyone, he just asks to love him back. Once the holy sprit came into my heart, life has been so much better. Do I still sin, yes. Do I have trials, yes. Praying for forgiveness and giving your trouble to Jesus sets you free. If I sound like I'm being harsh, please forgive me. It's your choice if you believe Jesus Christ came to earth to take away our sins. I pray you find the answer you are looking for.

It is more blessed to give than to receive

I like religion, I have a strong desire to go back to church, find a wife in church and raise kids in the church.

As far as God I believe there are three options

1- He isn't there
2- He doesn't care
3- He is there and does care but is unjust

I lean strongly towards option one. I have never witnessed evidence of God.

Wild, you're not alone. IMO, believing gives them peace in their mortality. Though I don't believe, I'm perfectly fine with them doing so if it gets them through the day. I also think church at a young age sets a good foundation for life.
I also notice with questions like this, the believers come out of the woodwork to chastise and convert the non believer.... every time.

To each their own way of passage. It matters not to me what others believe or do not, and I make sure that I don't try to judge them on that either, like others always do. What I believe is of no consequence to you or others either in the grand scheme of religious belief !

Though I do believe that religion has caused more problems and death on this world thru its existence than any war yet !!

Here's a question for the atheist leaning individuals. If God or a higher power doesn't exist, where do the basic moral principles come from? What or who created good and evil? If you look back through the ages, most civilizations had nearly the same moral code. Coincidence?

I don't think you are alone at all, Wild. I am religious, but not christian. That's usually met with attempts at conversion and trying to save me. People will believe what they want or need to.

Im a 100% scientific/evolution. (But thats my degrees) if you know anything about astronomy it really make the whole religious seem like a gimmick that some body uses to gain power or weather. If all religions and beliefs across the whole world agreed on the same thing than I would have good reason to do also. (Inca, Maya, catholics, Muslins Budith, ISIS eve seems to have their own relgious beliefs) To me religion seems to have has caused more wars and killed more people than anything else i can think of. But Im not a religious historian. Just an observer
