Just got an email from the DNR and 590 of the 600 season quota was caught last night, the season came in yesterday. I wasn't even thinking about water trapping until December. Must be a lot more trappers here than I thought. Crazy how things change!

Did they include nuisance/incidental otter in their quota? I thought the season in Indiana just started yesterday? I bet the email is a mistake, I just looked on the Indiana website and it showed 1 otter tagged so far.

I got 2 emails, the first said 575 and then a couple hours later I got another with an updated total of 590. I assumed it was a first night catch, but I don't know.

Did the Tibetan Monks run out of otter robes ? Is the otter price back up to 150.00-200.00 each ?

That’s about what used happen here in Iowa at least now they have it where we can keep three per trapper instead of a state quota.

I went to the DNR's website and it says only one otter catch has been turned in. Just like the screenshot concrete man posted. So I went into the kitchen and told the wife it must be a mistake and she says she just got the email too saying 590 had been caught because she has a license too.

Who is at the helm boys?

It's up to 2 catches now, if I go to bed it will be 600 on the morning email. Be just like the election!

I got the same message. That's not possible. I first thought it was antis bought a bunch of trapping licenses and were calling in fake catches. Now I am leaning towards computer glitch.

That’s a possibility but they’d be wasting their money. Don’t you have to check the otter in physically?

Yes you have to skin it and turn in the whole carcass.

My wife just said they same thing. I told her the antis are crazy. They've done dumber things than this. But since the website still says a low number I think it is just a computer problem.
