Ok I posted a pic of a deer I called butter ball and remarked how big he was for a deer from this area. Boy was I called a liar! "he's 165 lb , "he's little" average deer for the north. I DON"T LIVE IN THE NORTH !!

Well tonight he chased a doe around the wrong side of the hill.130 gr 270 Fed ammo to the shoulder and he dropped in his tracks. BUT I was not planning on killing him but the last few weeks have been tough for me. I have battled an auto immune inflammatory muscle disorder that when flared up prevents my arms and legs from moving properly. It is strange some days I can walk 5 miles . But some days 5 yards is a struggle. So after 2 days of soaking in the hot tub just to move I decided to climb the ladder this afternoon. I purchased an e- bike so getting to my stand is manageable. In the stand at 3.15 Around 4.30 the cramps and shaking forearms began so I decided to come down. Gathered my things and unloaded my rifle. Stood up to start down the ladder and crash , a doe came flying over the hill. I reloaded and sit back down. In about 5 minutes Butter ball came over the hill with his nose on the ground . Let him get to within 75 yards and dropped him.




Oh yea B&B on my dad's barn scales he weighed 213 lb field dressed(gutted) I left my phone in my truck and we retrieved him with the side by side so I couldn't take a pic to post of weight.
Son wants the cape but I'll get weight from processer of carcass weight.

When I was a kid, we set a tank on cinder blocks, filled it up and lit a fire under it. Pretty nice long as ya kept your feet away from the middle. Nice deer, jbyrd, glad ya felt like going out
