Given that the Democrats' platform provides for banning ARs, +10-round magazines, and internet gun sales, has the gun market been affected yet? Is there a run on ARs, or have they become nearly worthless? (I'd like to sell one, and wonder if I've waited too long.)

Are people buying guns like crazy on the internet?

Is there a run on magazines?

Are gun shows selling out?

I'm not looking to argue politics or the election's validity here. I'd like to stay with the topic of the gun market.

Do not worry James.
Your Dems will "buy" your AR back from you.

Good time to sell an AR. There is not much stock available at the retail level. The issue that I've seen currently and in the past is a cheap gun is worth way more than it's worth and an expensive gun is worth about what it would normally be worth. For example, if you have a $600 AR, it may sell for $1000. If you have a $1000 AR, it will probably sell for $1000. Panic buyers usually just buy what they can get ahold of and won't pay a premium for a better piece of equipment.

Biden’s Gun Czar (who also has a pulse) might even give him close to market value. Thanks dipstick.

Ive gotten several calls this past month from family looking to buy ARs because joe said no. If you got spare ammo you can almost name your price.

But you should be a good boy and go turn ALL your guns and ammo over to the sheriff. Ya know, cause you vote communist.

James, if you wanted to sell that rifle you would have done so the last time you asked this question. I figure your like me. Just cant bring yourself to sell one. Now a trade.... thats a different critter. You might could do real well in a trade.

James, off topic but how did you make out with the BAR 338? Did it meet your expectations? It looked odd in the image but the seller assured you it was just light reflection? and also a poster with some gunsmith experience suggested many of them were problematic?

You've got a point, Danny. I find it much easier to buy a firearm than to sell one.

In fact, I'm now debating with myself whether to buy another rifle on the internet, on the grounds that internet sales may soon be banned. I don't think it's really going to happen, but it sounds like an excellent excuse to me.

My biggest obstacle is my wife, who recently announced that I have enough guns. I told her, "Shh! You're speaking sacrilege."

I never ended up with that rifle. The seller never sent me his address so I could send payment, and I never pressed him. I was willing to complete the deal, since I'd agreed, but those comments in my earlier thread did make me lose enthusiasm for the rifle. The seller probably sold it elsewhere for a better price.

James let me explain it this way

took my son to the local gun shop tonight he had saved up and we got a couple hundred for trees we took down last week so it was time to get him a rifle

we knew bolt action 308 , had a couple of preferences on brand and features. I said so we are looking for a 308 , not in any rush. my dealer asked what does not in a rush mean. well I have a rifle for him to use so a couple months if needed.

he said nothing to order every distributor is out and not taking any orders till they have stuff in stock . maybe in 6 months they might take an order
basically what you see is what you can have this year a good way into next year

very very little ammo on the shelf a box of 270 3 boxes 30-06 you can have obscure thing 218 bee 223wssm for now

no rifle primers or pistol primers. a couple 209 primers but being sold be the 100 not the 1000

no ARs left on the shelf they had some a couple weeks ago when I was in for powder , they have some powder but not the one I want H4895 some magnum handgun powder , some magnum rifle powder

he had a decent selection of bolt action hunting rifles a couple 308 , 5-6 6.5 creed more there is no ammo for 6.5 however
some 223 , 6.5 grendel

but now semi auto rifles other than a 10/22 in the shop

my son noticed a few 1911s in the case was surprised to see used 1911s in the case , the dealer said those are new , my son said but they have hand written tags you always do the nice typed tags for new guns. good catch , they sell so fast I don't bother any more , just scratch a price on a tag and put it in the case it will be gone in a couple days.

guys coming in looking for 30-30 ,out , out of a lot of ammo

this shop looked packed in January couldn't get another gun on the shelf they closed for a couple weeks in April opened up again he had orders in and was restocked in April , was one of the best looking gun shops in September always had some ARs and other semi autos lots of hand guns even when the big box stores were out.

we can't give Biden all the credit for selling more guns in 1 year than Obama in 8 he had a lot of help from china and Antifa and BLM , arsonists , looters and general criminals.

so bad , the worst I have ever seen it take the runs on guns after 3 mass shootings , 2 elections and triple it for a start.

yes we came home with a 308 that has been in the rack almost a year still had the nice printed price tag with last years price on it also. my son has been looking at that one for near a year so tonight he got to bring it home. it even has walnut some times the kids do appreciate nice wood.
it was one of 2 308win rifles he had int he store.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Thanks for the info, Pete. Sounds like I better buy that new rifle while I can.

Think I'll wait for the next gun show to sell a couple guns. I know a dealer who will display my guns for free.

SKS prices have gone thru the roof over the last two years.
Used to get one for $120 bucks-same gun today if you can find one is $450.
