A decoy dog will not only distract a coyote from you but will also lure them within rifle range. Fun to watch a good one/pair at work. There is some good ones on YouTube
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I have a good friend that has decoy dogs. It really is a fascinating style and concept.

Never done it with coyotes but have watched it with ducks. A Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever. Brought a whole flotilla of Pintails almost to the shoreline. I can see where market hunters would have used them Never even heard of that. The dog gets fowl to follow him?
