about 200 miles i NASA's web site will check the telemetry from the space station and gather its exact latitude and longitude as it orbits about 200 miles over the Earth, traveling 17,500 miles an hour, making one full orbit every hour and a half.

Is it a lot brighter than a typical satellite? I've watched those go. Yes, it is said to be the third brightest object in the sky behind the sun and the moon. Even brighter than Venus. Watching the night sky and satellites is a favorite summer camp/family activity. Ever see the Milky Way galaxy?
Eh...wot?

Ever see the Milky Way galaxy? Can't say for sure, Lug, and if so, only with the naked eye.

For you science geeks , I can't wait until the James Webb telescope gets launched in it's latest projected date of October 31st 2021 That thing is going to make the Hubble look like a Cracker Jack magnifying glass.
