I have 2 deer in coolers, and 16 chickens due to be butchered 2 weeks ago but I am out of space in the freezers.

Between meat and produce and animal parts(hides heads carcasses ect...) I'm maxed out.

I bought a new 25 cubic foot up right last year and we have a 13 CF and the one on the fridge. What's worse I was checking dads and its 3/4 full and it's all my stuff I forgot about. Bever carcasses hides vacuum sealed meat.

Guess I will go buy another freezer and work on cleaning out the full ones.

I have been thinking about getting a 12 or 14 volt freezer I can run directly off solar panels but man those very small heavily installed things are high dollar. But no worries when the grid is down.

I want a walk in freezer and a walk in cooler so I can age beef and maybe some venison. The thought of all the eatin out places folding makes me want to gag tho.

Find better ways to preserve your meat.
Dry cure sausage, jerky, drymeat, smoked nemestik in lard, canned etc.
You got hundreds of pounds of meat in the freezers and the power goes out you'll be a busy boy.

Ya that's a major concern. I am debating on installing a propane generator and maybe a 5-10kw solar system.

I need to learn those skills. We can a lot from the garden but never have canned meat or soups ect..

Deer meat is some of the best to can, and does last a little longer do to the leanness of the meat.

Just buy another freezer off craigslist for $100 and even if you have to put $100 in it for a charge of freon your way ahead.
We are sposd to all own a generator too.

Right now, canning lids are almost as hard to find as ammo.
Another case of now being the wrong time to prepare.
