I have a bunch of castor and was thinking of sending it into FHA. The local buyers up here in Canada are paying 2/3 of the price FHA is. If I do send it in, how much do they ding you for shrinkage? And yes, I know I’ll pay commission but other than waiting to get paid I still think I’ll do better with them than selling locally.

I have sent it when it dried for a few days and I have also sent it after drying for over a month. Both times they dinged me close to 30%.
I will send them my fur but not Castor. Nope. Never again.

If you can get $80 -$85 lb in the country you will come out ahead of having FHA sell it for $100 and deducting <-> 23% shrinkage and then deducting 11% selling fee. Not to mention your shipping charges to get it there.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
