Can someone tell me who wrote the answers to questions submitted to FFG question box in the late 80s? I recently came across a letter asking questions from a trapper with the responses written on the back of the letter and signed simply by "Tom".

Thank you. I was able to look up the author of the letter. He was born in 1912 and died in 1999. I then googled Tom Miranda's autograph and signature looks similar. Nice little piece of trapping history I found tucked away in a first edition Russ Carman book.

Sounds like you did find a nice piece of trapping history...Tom was my instructor at the 1985 FTA Trappers College, and there were a lot of trapping greats there.

Out of them all, I learned the most from Tom.

He related well with people, and was driven to succeed, and went on to be extremely successful....

Tom Miranda will always be the "rock star" of trapping. IMO.

I thought Kermit Stearns wrote the Q&A for Trapper and Fur Fish Game?

Kermit never did the Q&A for FFG. I'm probably the oldest now, lol. E. J. Dailey's Question Box was a classic. I wish I knew which issue my questions appeared in, it would have been the late 1950's or very early 1960's. I was JW from Penna. I do remember one question I asked, that question was asked by many back in the day. I asked what animals could be trapped in my area, lol.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Tom Miranda took over the FFG Question Box in December 1984 from former "answer man" Don Rouanzion...Tom was still there in Dec. 1990, but not sure how much longer after that he was running the FFG Question Box.

Oh, and Nittany your not the oldest, your the most seasoned! grin
