They did well other than not stretching the ripening out. We trimmed the plant of most it excess branches. We have done them in beer boxes too. The most important thing is to not pull the stem out of the tomato. All of the tomatoes we picked where the stem pulled out were rotten in a couple of weeks. "The voice of reason!"
