One hand setter on here sells setters that make setting traps easier.

like mentioned a 1 3/4 and maybe paired with the above mentioned setters would make a heck of a setup!
Trapping is what built North America, why take that away?

Longsprings. Way easier for me to set those than stout coils. Otherwise become a snareman. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

At 75 bending over in winter clothing could be a problem the easier the better.

Lots of good choices but I think the Montana #3 Coyote Specials are easy to set and easy to use. They are based on a proven design, sold by a reputable man, and probably the closest thing to fool proof I own

I say montanas #3 2 coiled Some of the stiffest springs I've ever seen on a two coiled trap.

Broke my hand one time. That season I used Duke #3 coils. They have longer levers.
Question about one hand setters? Do they work well for opening traps to release an animal live?
Edit, good on you for taking an elder.

Someone mentioned snares, and as an old guy, I find I'm more anxious to snare than to trap. Gary Jepson and I were talking and we both agreed that snaring is made for geezers! And 7 year old nephews that want to do things themselves when they go trapping with you.
