where have you been -- we just did a deer and 3 lambs 2-weeks ago. I wasn't ambitious enough to raise a couple of hogs or beef this year , maybe next year.

My folks and a few of their friends bought three steers a while back. Come about Christmas they’ll start em on corn and alfalfa to finish em. Most likely send them to the local butcher for processing though, I’m the only one between us that wants to do that kind of stuff and I darn sure don’t want to do three steers by myself lol. Once I buy some land this year or next I’ll raise pork and beef and butcher myself for my family. Not chickens though. I don’t like chicken enough to pluck em. My parents raised 50 of em one year and had us help pluck em and that was enough for me. As cheap as chicken is at the store if my wife wants some she can just go buy it lol

Time changes things I guess.
60 years ago was a regular thing on the farms around here.
Butchers and lockers are history now. The ones still going are booked way out.
