I’d guess back in the 80s during the boom.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I can remember seeing them on a peg board display shelf at a store in the sporting goods section. Want to say 1979..1980. There was another squirt type bottle of lure out there. I remember on the front of the package it had a trapper holding up a coon. Maybe deer creek lure?

Administrative/Biographical History: J. M. Mast Manufacturing Company was organized in Lititz in 1901 to manufacture animal traps, patent fishing floats and vegetable graters. In 1905 the Mast Company was merged with the Animal Trap Company of Abingdon, Illinois; the new company was said to be “the largest concern of its kind in the world.” (http://www.horseshoe.cc/pennadutch/places/pennsylvania/lancasterco/towns/lititz/lititz.htm, accessed 16 July 2009)

The name was changed to Woodstream Corporation in 1966 and is headquartered in Lititz. Woodstream Corporation manufactures and markets pest control, and wildlife caring and control products for the United States, Canada, and European markets. The company offers rodent control products, caring control products for pets and wildlife, pest control products for the lawn and garden, and wild bird feeder segments. It also offers mouse traps, cage traps, toxic insecticides and fungicides, and bird feeders, as well as dog and small animal cages. It distributes its products through retail locations in the United States and internationally. I read the Fur Fish Game article and it only mentions that they made 12 lures. As camlock stated, does anyone know the years that the lures and baits were made? I can still buy them from Sterling.

I bet Kieth Winkler with Sterling would know. Or Pete Askins. He was the trap developer for Victor Woodstream.

1983 to 1986 would have you pretty close. They didn't stay in the market very many years.
By the way, not many folks probably remember but Montgomery trap company also offered a line of scents.

I think Pete Askins was the the lure maker for the Victor brand. Could be wrong.

i would say Pete was Victors lure maker. When Pete started sleepy creek traps, He also developed lures. "Pete's sleepy creek lures. Also a trap dye.

I was always told they were Pete's lures.
