I have used Irish Spring Bar soap that i have shaved off the bar while walking around an arear in the woods that I didn't want the deer to go through and then setup my archery stand in the area left natural. I was wondering if anyone had tried anything like that to keep coyote and other predators away from one area to guide them towards their trap sets. or would it just be a waste of time ?

Yes there are plenty methods of diversion flagging especially for the snareman.
