About a week before Halloween I saw a girl with her face all painted up. I asked her if she was going to an early Halloween party. She said "No, I have skin cancer."

So a fella on his first date asked his Mom what he could do to make the girl like him. She said "Just give her nice complements." After awhile he told her "you sure don't sweat much for a fat girl."

I once dated a girl that came form a very religious family. I was invited to their house on Christmas eve. Seated with her large family at the dinner table, her mother brought out a birthday cake that said Happy Birthday Jesus on it. I immediately said "I don't think you're gonna have enough candles!" Well, at least I thought it was funny.

Yard tards is a term we used for certain kids. Also sometimes we called them shoulder lickers. Short bus, I remember that term tossed around. Some of the smaller number teams like golf team at school always wanted to take the van to away events and not the smaller bus because thst was the "short bus" and had a certain stigma with it.
One time our high school football team watched the other schools cheerleaders show up on a bus, and the team pushed one of those portable cattle loading chutes up to that bus door which they didn't think was very funny but I did and the other guys must have liked my idea too. Yes I got in trouble for it.
I have a hard time seeing folks I knew years ago and then seeing them again years later, way out of shape and looking like life really hit them hard. Its hard for me to keep a straight face and be polite. My wife always reminds me afterward of this, like what was so (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) funny back there when we ran into your old classmate?
I lose it and bust out laughing in the car. Jeez did you see how big he or she was? I remember when they only weighed such and such, or I remember when they had a full head of hair, or that guy used to be a state champ in track! She usually says something like well not everyone takes very good care of themselves but you could have been a little less obvious about your humor in it and I think they were picking up on it. I know, im going to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) someday for it but geez its funny to me. grin

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Back in the day my coworker John and myself we're hanging a new ceiling light in the kitchen we had just painted for a couple of lesbians. They stood in the kitchen watching us and then John blurts out 'I need a pair of dykes'. I ran to the van crying with laughter.

I guess it's "special needs" now - until that becomes an insult too. Wonder what term will be used next.

The dykes I know would find that equally funny and laugh right along with you. .

Not me, but a male coworker asked a female coworker if she was pregnant after she put on a few pounds. Thankfully, in the LE field, most folks have thick skin.

Anyone who acts like saying retarded or short busser etc. is funny has obviously never spent any time with a person with Down’s syndrome. They’re better people than all of us on this thread and they don’t even know it. For the Christians, when Jesus comes back he’s taking them to the promised land first, before any of you, guaranteed

No one is disputing that. Thats why they are jokes. Id rather hang out with someone who jokes about everything, but treats everyone the same than someone who virtue signals like a fraud and pretends to be politically correct, but are a closet racist, or is intolerant.

I find people who joke about this stuff are actually more tolerant. Lots of people shame others when they are clearly joking to appear holier than thou and its quite off putting.

They are genuine, all the time, for one. They are compassionate and loving toward everyone they meet. I’ve never seen a person with Down’s syndrome lash out in anger. I wish I could feel joy like they do, it’s deeply moving to see the real joy they feel. I wish I could feel joy like that. The way they treat other people is about as close to being Jesus as a human can get in my opinion.

Go spend some time around a child with downs. You’ll see what I’m talking about.

Just hurts my heart when folks talk that way about them. That all. I’m not guilt free or holier than anyone hutchy.
